Viva! – Would You Swap? – Refreshers Tour 2024
In a bold move to reach even more students and amplify their impactful message, Viva!’s Would You Swap? tour is kicking off 2024 by embarking on a journey across the south west, spanning from Cardiff to Southampton.
In September 2023, Viva! proudly launched our groundbreaking FaceOff app, available on Meta devices. This provides users with a confronting 360-degree immersive experience inside a standard UK pig farm. Through this experience, we aim to raise awareness of the harsh reality of factory farming, showing the conditions these animals are subjected to daily, from birth to the end of their very short lives.
We are led to believe that Britain has some of the highest animal welfare standards in the world, where animals live happy lives free from suffering. Well, here is the truth about pig farming in the UK. Viva!’s investigations over the years have helped to expose the endless horrors endured by these animals in UK pig farms.
ACCORDING TO A YOUGOV POLL, ONE IN EIGHT 18 to 24 YEAR-OLDS IN BRITAIN CHALLENGED THEMSELVES TO GO VEGAN IN JANUARY 2023 – THAT’S OVER 670,000 ALONE! CAN YOU HELP MAKE 2024 THE BIGGEST YEAR FOR VEGANISM EVER?
Whether you’ve just started university or are returning for another year , Viva! wish you the absolute best in all your academic pursuits and hope you enjoy the experience! Speaking of which, did you know that going vegan is “the single biggest way to reduce your impact on planet Earth“, according to Oxford researcher Joseph Poore? Simply put, going vegan while at university is the very best thing you can do – and, better still, universities are some of the best environments in which to go vegan!
IN FACT, UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ARE SIX TIMES MORE LIKELY TO BE VEGAN OR VEGETARIAN THAN THEIR PARENTS ARE.
Viva! campaigners are taking their campaign to new heights, bringing along freshly-cooked vegan sausage rolls from Greggs – a previous firm favourite – along with delicious vegan doughnuts for those willing to confront the harsh reality of standard pig farms in the UK using our high-tech virtual reality experience.

Universities are fantastic places to go vegan. Perhaps it is your first time living independently, so you are now free to eat as you wish. Perhaps it is the student VegSoc that is helping you along the path to being plant-based. Perhaps it is the sheer number of other students who are moving from omnivore to flexitarian to vegetarian and, increasingly, to vegan.
ACCORDING TO A 2019 YOUGOV POLL, 55 PER CENT OF UK STUDENTS WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE PLANT-BASED OPTIONS IN THEIR CAFETERIAS – THAT’S AROUND 1.3 MILLION STUDENTS!
To help with this, Viva! has published a Student Guide to Eating Vegan and a Budget Guide to Eating Vegan, as well as including sections on our free app – Vegan Recipe Club – specifically designed for student-friendly simple budget meals!
