Becoming a Viva! stall volunteer

Become a Viva! Stall Vol and raise vital funds and awareness for our life-saving campaigns. Viva! as a charity, attends over 50 veggie, vegan, ethical and green events each year and we need your enthusiasm and compassion for animals to help us attend even more events.

You don’t need a background in sales or event management – we are looking for responsible, friendly like-minded people to represent our wonderful charity and sell a vegan chocolate bar or two!

The Viva! events team will call for volunteers by email and social media 1-2 months before an upcoming event. If you like the idea of raising funds for our animal friends and promoting a veggie and vegan diet, get in touch now!

The Basics

You must be able to transport 1-2 medium-sized boxes to and from the event! You must be able to unpack and set-up stall materials for a 6ft table and never leave the stall unsupervised! You must be able to arrange a money float (approximately £50)* with your own cash, which of course you keep at the end of the event. *We regret we cannot send a money float along with your stall contents, but we can provide you with a handy cash box! You must be able to count change during the event and count stock after the event!

How it works

Once we have confirmed interest in the event, we will arrange for 1-2 stall boxes (including everything you need to set-up and display your stall) to be couriered to your address 1-2 weeks before the event.  We arrange a collection of the remaining unsold merchandise on a day convenient to you. When you receive your Viva! Stall Vol pack, remember to do a quick scan of the contents just in case anything essential is missing! All information pertaining to the event (date, time, location) and your role will be sent to you via email and a printed copy included in the stall contents too. Instructions on how to set-up the stall and a handy photo of a previously set-up stall are included. An itemised stocksheet is included to help you count the stock sold after the event. This must be returned with any unsold merchandise. We encourage you to take photos of you and your friends running the Viva! Stall. We LOVE to see our vols in action and when we get the chance will share your photos and event successes on social media and in our tri-annual magazine Viva!life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is everything available to buy on the stall organic, fair-trade, dairy-free and gluten-free?

Everything Viva! produces and sells is suitable for vegans. All of our edibles are strictly vegan (they do not contain any animal ingredients or by-products). All of our literature promotes a vegan diet and all of our recipes are vegan too! If an item of clothing or food is organic, it will state this on the label or on the packet’s ingredient listing. All of our clothing is fair-trade and some of our food is fair-trade (not always stated on the packaging). All of our food for sale is suitable for a dairy-free diet. If a customer has a severe dairy/gluten intolerance or other allergy, it is up to the purchaser to carefully read the ingredient labels. Because of cross-contamination on a manufacturing level we cannot guarantee our merchandise is suitable for nut allergy sufferers or those with a severe dairy/gluten intolerance.

Do I need to provide anything?

What if a customer asks for merchandise that wasn’t included in your stall pack?

The Viva! Shop sells hundreds of items but for events we tend to stick to promoting our most popular merch (t-shirts, chocolate and books). Please encourage customers to take a FREE copy of our Gifts for Life mail order catalogue or tell them to browse online at www.vivashop.org.uk

What if I am asked a campaign-related question that I don’t know the answer to?

Don’t worry! Please let the visitor know that you are volunteering for Viva! and would be more than happy to take down their details and their enquiry will be passed to the appropriate staff member for a reply.

What if there are discrepancies on the stock sheet, when I count stock sold after the event?

Occasionally, we might pack more or less than the quantities listed on your stocksheet.  Just call or email us to highlight any discrepancies

How do I send Viva! the money made at the event?

There are a few ways to do this:

  1. Write a cheque payable to: ‘Viva!’ for the total value of goods sold
  2. Pay the total value of goods sold via Banks Transfer. Please email us to ask us for our bank details.
  3. Pay the total values of goods sold via our website here: http://www.viva.org.uk/donate
