Millions of people choose plant-based milk – for their health, for the planet, for animals or because of dairy intolerance. Yet, major coffee chains like Caffè Nero and Costa Coffee continue to penalise customers for making that choice by charging extra for oat, almond or coconut milk.
Plant milks have a lower environmental impact than dairy, are kinder to animals and are essential for many with dietary needs – but the outdated surcharge makes sustainable, compassionate choices harder and more expensive.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Starbucks, Pret A Manger and other chains have already scrapped the plant milk surcharge. Now it’s time for Caffè Nero and Costa Coffee to do the same.
Sign the petition – because making kinder, greener choices should never come with a price tag.
