American actor Casey Affleck has an onscreen career dating back to 1988, but his Academy Award nominated work in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) gained him wider acclaim in recent years.

The younger brother of actor Ben Affleck, Casey has established a career as an actor in his own right. Beginning with smaller roles in films such as To Die For (1995) with Joaquin Phoenix and Chasing Amy (1997) with his older brother. He found a much more significant role in the film Good Will Hunting (1997), which helped him showcase his acting talent and land larger roles in film. He also starred in Ben Affleck’s directorial debut Gone Baby Gone in 2007.

Casey became vegan in 1995, due to the cruel practices of the animal agriculture industry and has been an outspoken animal advocate ever since.

“I believe veganism can be beneficial for the individual and the world, and of course the animal. Chickens, cows, and pigs in factory farms spend their whole lives in filthy, cramped conditions, only to die a prolonged and painful death.”

“When people ask me why I don’t eat meat or any other animal products, I say, ‘Because they are unhealthy and they are the product of a violent and inhumane industry’.”1PETA.
