The legendary American singer-songwriter, Stevie Wonder, whose timeless music spans the genres of funk, r’n’b, soul, jazz, pop and gospel is vegan.

Stevie Wonder is one of the most influential musicians of all time and his career began back in the early sixties when he was just a boy. In 1963, he became the youngest musician to ever have a number one single when he released ‘Fingertips’ at the age of 13. His success sky-rocketed in the seventies and he cemented his name in music history with hits such as the infamous ‘Superstition’. The eighties saw Wonder’s success grow and he collaborated with other pop icons including Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson.

Stevie Wonder is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, has won 25 Grammy Awards and an Oscar, and has been inducted into multiple Halls of Fame.

Wonder has been vegan since around 2013 but he stopped eating pork and beef when he was 24 years old. When he appeared on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden in 2015, Wonder stated that he had been vegan for about a year and nine months and that he likes not eating meat. In another interview, he said:

“People have to make their choices in life, and for me, it feels good to not eat meat. I think you have to do what is going to be healthy for your body. And I think that, when I read my word [God’s word], it talks about how the fruit and the various plants of the Earth were made to perpetuate our lives – I like that.”
