Local campaigners have been shocked and disgusted by a recent investigation carried out by animal welfare organisation, Viva! Campaigns, in to Hogwood pig ‘Horror’ Farm. Viva! Campaigns’ investigation made national headlines in June when horrifying scenes of extreme overcrowding
Hogwood Farm is a horrific place in Warwickshire, which houses around 16,000 pigs and is one of the largest pig farms Viva! has ever seen. The conditions for pigs there are so appalling that Viva! launched a campaign in 2017 urging supporters to TAKE ACTION and help us close down the farm.
Animal welfare organisation, Viva!, questions the efficiency of the government’s Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA), condemning their lack of investigations and prosecutions in British farming.
In February 2017, footage obtained by Viva! Campaigns exposed an intensive factory farm, Lambrook Pig Unit, revealing truly dismal conditions. However, following the investigation and over one year later the farm has now closed.
