‘Tis the season to be vegan! Local animal welfare charity Viva! are returning to their home city for an even bigger and better Vegan Christmas Festival.

Bristol boasts an impressive array of Christmas markets and festive activities. Yet the overwhelming display of hog roasts and cheese platters can often leave the vegan and veg-curious community wanting more.

This December – building on the roaring success of last year – local vegan charity Viva! are returning to Bristol with their Viva! Vegan Christmas Festival to celebrate delicious festive plant-based foods.

Located in the dynamic and bustling Bristol Student Union, the vegan festival is home to over 90 stalls offering unique and seasonal delights. So whether you’re looking for outstanding ethical gifts or just some festive inspiration, the festival will be a brilliant day out for all the family.

Throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to taste vegan food, explore cruelty-free clothing and cosmetics, and learn more about health and nutrition. From luxury soya-based candles by Avanti Candles – perfect for cosy winter evenings – to hot street food from traders such as No Beef Burgers, Mr Nice Pie, and the Greek Vegan Deli, the festival has everything you need for a compassionate Christmas.

There will be a stellar line-up of talks and workshops, including advice on having a plastic-free holiday season by Bristol Green Councillor Martin Fodor, plus live cookery demonstrations featuring recipes from Acorn Restaurant’s Richard Buckley and recipes from Viva!’s own Vegan Christmas Guide.

This year also boasts the first Viva! Vegan Pub Quiz hosted by local vegan group Bristol Vegans to help you feel merry and bright.

Viva! founder and director Juliet Gellatley said: “Interest in veganism has continued to soar globally and shows no signs of slowing down. Viva!’s vegan festivals are a fantastic way of bringing people together and showcasing the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. Regardless of dietary choices, we want everyone to come along and see just how wonderful vegan food can be. Christmas is a joyful time of year and we think there is no better way to spread peace and kindness during the festive season than to extend our compassion to all animals”

Entry is just £3 on the door, £2 for students or VIP ticket for £13, which includes fast-track entry and a goody bag full of products, samples and discounts. Better yet – kids under the age of 16 go free.

All proceeds go back to the charity to help Viva! conduct important undercover investigations, monitor the latest research on health and environmental issues, and host vegan outreach events.
