Stuart Hampton
Stuart Hampton is an artist and musician from Manchester who has a background in Illustration and graphic design. For many years Stuart worked as an illustrator and designed private commissions & album covers for some well known artists including The Grateful Dead, Lou Reed, Pete Townsend (The Who), Peter Hook (Joy Division) and Dr John. Stuart did album covers for The Grateful Dead, a Velvet Underground compilation with performances from many artists such as Nirvana, James and more, and interviews from Lou Reed – and album design for a Dr John LP .The private art commissions were for Peter Hook from Joy Division, and Pete Townshend from The who. Stuart is a huge fan of the Hippie Era and the Hippie sentiments of ‘Peace and Love’ and his greatest ambition and life-long dream is to set up and establish a vegan community and animal sanctuary, a project he has been working on for a number of years (www.freerivercommunity.com),
Why I am vegan
I have been vegan now for over 10 years, vegetarian for 15 years before that – and I really wish I had been vegan all my life but unfortunately I was not self-aware enough and was not in a vegan environment to help encourage this awareness, but now I am 100% vegan for the rest of my life (im even sat here right now with a tshirt on which says 100% vegan on it!) I believe that being vegan is much more then a diet, it is a commitment to peace and love, and a deep wish to reduce and avoid causing hurt or harm to any sentient beings, I love veganism and the cause.

Viva! is a charity I have been aware of for a long time, I have even spent many hours on the streets handing out leaflets and at stalls from Viva! (photo above is of me at a stall I set up in Aberystwyth). Viva la vegan revolución!!
