Laura Jane Grace – Against Me!
Laura Jane Grace is the lead singer and songwriter of American anarcho-punk band Against Me!. In 2012, Laura came out as being transgender and began her transition to becoming a woman. The emotional closing track on Against Me!’s 2007 album New Wave features the lyric: “If I could have chosen, I would have been born a woman / My mother once told me she would have named me Laura.”
