Declan McKenna is an English singer-songwriter who gained recognition for winning the Glastonbury Festival’s Emerging Talent Competition in 2015. Since then, he has released three successful albums: What Do You Think About the Car? (2017) Zeros (2020) and What Happened to the Beach? (2024).

Declan has always been politically and socially-minded. His first self-released single, called ‘Brazil’, written when he was 16, criticised FIFA for awarding the 2014 World Cup to the South American country without addressing the extensive and deep poverty affecting the people of the nation.

Declan doesn’t talk much about veganism in interviews, preferring to focus on his music, but he confirmed he was vegan in a 2017 tweet, and was photographed (by himself) enjoying a vegan Cornetto in 2018. Then, in 2024, he praised Australia for its good vegan food.
