Bobby Vylan and drummer Bobbie Vylan. It’s not just a weird coincidence that they share these names – they adopted these monikers to protect their privacy.

Bob Vylan made history in 2022 by winning the first ever MOBO Award for Best Alternative Music Act. Their 2022 self-released album, Bob Vylan Presents the Price of Life, went in at number 18 on the UK Albums Chart and took the top spot on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart. Their 2024 album, Humble as the Sun, reached number one on the UK Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums Chart.

Their lyrics address many social and political issues such as racism, police violence, unequal income distribution, access to healthy food, and mental health.

Why Bob Vylan is vegan

Both Bobs advocate for healthy lifestyles which include not drinking or smoking, and eating plant-based wholefoods. They even released a song, Health is Wealth, advocating for eating a healthy plant-based diet.

Bobby became vegan in 2014, telling The Guardian: “I feel healthier in my body and mind. The band is not shy to promote veganism, often talking about it on their social media and having played Vegan Camp Out in 2023.
