Andy Hurley – Fall Out Boy

Andy Hurley is the drummer for American rock band Fall Out Boy, as well as other side projects, The Damned Things and Enabler. In 2015, Andy formed a new band, SECT, with a 100 per cent vegan line-up. Between 2015 and 2024, SECT released four studio albums.

Since joining Fall Out Boy in 2003 for their first studio album, Andy Hurley has played drums on all eight of their albums, as of 2026. Their debut album, Take This To Your Grave, has appeared on many Top Album lists and Rolling Stone Magazine ranked it at number five in its list of the 50 Greatest Pop-Punk Albums. Over the course of 20 years, Fall Out Boy has maintained popularity as their 2023 album, So Much (for) Stardust, reached number one in the US Top Rock Albums chart.

Why Andy Hurley is vegan

Hurley is ‘straight-edge’, meaning he is vegan and also doesn’t consume alcohol or any other drugs. He went vegan at the age of 16, influenced by bands like Earth Crisis.

Hurley is also a CrossFit fanatic and takes his health very seriously, proving that vegans can still lift serious weights.
