Henning Wehn is a German stand-up comedian based in the UK since 2002.

In 2002, Henning moved to the UK to work in marketing for a football club but one evening decided to perform at an open mic night. This led to him becoming the warm-up act for many comedians before becoming a headline act himself. Between 2011 and 2024, Henning took nine shows on tour. But he is perhaps best-known in households across the UK for his appearances on comedy panel shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News for You, QI and Would I Lie to You?

Why Henning Wehn is vegan

Henning Wehn is vegan for the animals and for health.

Henning became vegan around 2016, initially inspired by his vegan girlfriend to make the change. He told Mark Wogan on Virgin Radio UK that he started to lose some weight and feel healthier, But his conscience also started feeling lighter knowing that he was no longer “torturing anyone” for his meals.1Virgin Radio UK. 2026. On The Unbelievable Truth, Wehn joked that “vegetarianism mostly means a person doesn’t eat an animal’s flesh, but will eat a cocktail made of its eggs, milk, honey, dreams, souls, unborn children, its Christmas spirit, its gym membership, and general sense of purpose, providing there’s enough ketchup” and “every vegan thinks all vegetarians are cold-hearted proxy-murderers who haven’t quite thought it through. To be properly thoughtful, you need to be vegan.”2Smith, R. 2026. 21 vegan comedians who are rewriting the “humourless vegan” cliché. Vegan Food & Living.
