Jennifer Coolidge is an American actor whose comedy characters have become pop culture fixtures, from Stifler’s mum in American Pie to Paulette in Legally Blonde. In recent years she has had a major career resurgence, winning an Emmy for her role as Tanya McQuoid in The White Lotus and bringing the same offbeat, fearless energy to darker projects like The Watcher.

Coolidge is also a long-time public supporter of vegan and cruelty-free choices. She has been recognised by PETA for sustained animal advocacy, including being named PETA’s “Vegan Queen” for Women’s History Month 2023. Her involvement with PETA dates back to 2003, when she appeared on the cover of its cruelty-free shopping guide.

Jennifer has supported veganism publicly. She has spoken about turning down a hot dog endorsement unless the brand introduced a plant-based option, pointing out that she already eats plant-based hot dogs. She has also used her platform to promote vegan fashion and cruelty-free beauty, and has described checking products and brands to make sure they match her standards. In 2023 she appeared in a Super Bowl advert for e.l.f. Cosmetics and praised the brand for being vegan, linking that to her long-running commitment to cruelty-free products.

“I remember a time when you couldn’t go into a designer showroom and find a purse not made of leather. But I think people are changing.”

“I’ve always been passionate about vegan and cruelty-free beauty.”
