Elaine Hendrix

Elaine Hendrix is an American actor whose work spans film and television, often playing characters with a sharp, confident edge. She is widely recognised as Meredith Blake in The Parent Trap (1998), a role that helped make the film a lasting pop culture favourite. She later appeared in the rebooted series Dynasty as Alexis Carrington Colby, bringing a bold, high-drama presence to the show. Her credits also include the comedy film Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and the music-driven TV series Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, alongside a long list of guest roles and independent projects across genres.
Hendrix has spoken publicly about her veganism and has been clear about the timeline of her choices. She has said she was vegetarian from 1995 and later moved to a vegan diet, describing that shift as connected to learning more about animal suffering and deciding she did not want to take part in it. She has also talked about plant-based eating in practical terms, emphasising how straightforward she finds it day to day and pointing to simple staples such as fruit, vegetables, beans, rice, and tofu. In interviews, she has described vegan living as something that has become easier over time, especially as mainstream options have expanded.
Alongside her acting work, Hendrix has also been associated with animal advocacy, including work with well-known animal rights organisations such as PETA.
“Now more than ever it’s so easy to be vegan… there’s kinda no excuse.”
