Craig Robinson is an American actor, comedian and musician best known for playing Darryl Philbin in The Office and Doug Judy in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He has also appeared in hit comedies including Pineapple Express and Hot Tub Time Machine, and is known for mixing stand-up with live music in his performances.

Robinson has spoken publicly about turning to vegan food as part of a wider health reset. In 2017, he described gradually cutting out animal products and leaning into vegan options, saying he had “since become a vegan” and was learning as he went. That same year, he shared that he lost around 50 pounds after making major lifestyle changes, including cutting out alcohol, working out, and trying a vegan lifestyle. Speaking about how achievable it felt, he said there were “so many great vegan restaurant and dishes” and that it was “much easier than I thought it would be”.

By talking about vegan food in such practical, everyday terms, Robinson helped puncture the myth that plant-based eating is restrictive or only for a certain type of person. His comments focus on what many people actually need when they are making a change: proof it can be simple, enjoyable, and compatible with real life, whether you are travelling, filming, or juggling a packed schedule.

“[I’m] working out and I’ve been trying this vegan lifestyle too. It’s amazing (…) There are so many great vegan restaurant and dishes. It’s much easier than I thought it would be.”
