Bonnie Wright is an English actress, filmmaker and environmental activist, best known for playing Ginny Weasley in all eight Harry Potter films.
In 2012, Bonnie founded a film production company called BonBonLumiere and made her directorial and screenwriting debut in the short film, Separate We Come, Separate We Go.
As well as a successful showbiz career, Bonnie is an outspoken environmental activist and has campaigned against the production of single-use plastic and raised awareness of plastic pollution. In 2017, she joined the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise to trawl for plastic in the oceans. She is also an ambassador for the Rainforest Alliance, an organisation that campaigns for the conservation and sustainable management of the planet’s forests. In 2022, Bonnie published her first book, titled ‘Go Gently: actionable steps to nurture yourself and the planet’.
In the past, it had been reported that Bonnie was pescetarian, vegetarian and mostly vegan. More recently, it has been reported that she is indeed vegan. In 2023, she published ‘A week of nourishing budget friendly meals’ on YouTube, all of which were plant-based. Due to Bonnie’s commitment to environmentalism, a vegan diet would be the only one that makes sense.
