This study estimated the gain in life expectancy that might result from changing your diet from typical eating patterns seen in China, France, Germany, Iran, Norway, the UK and the US. They found that for 40-year-old adults, changing to an ‘optimised vegan diet’, including wholegrains and pulses, may increase your life expectancy by five to seven years.
