Love is in the air, so we’ve put together the ultimate guide to a vegan Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day isn’t always vegan-friendly, with lots of chocolates including dairy, meals for two focussing on animal products and date ideas being super cheesy (get it…) But worry not, at Viva! we’ve survived more than a few vegan Valentine’s Days so here’s our ultimate guide to a cruelty-free day of luuurve.

Gift Ideas
If you’re looking to get your loved one a gift, we have lots of delicious chocolates, vegan wines and animal-themed gifts in the Viva! shop. And even better, by buying from us you’re supporting our campaigns for the animals and the environment, which is a gift in itself! Here are our top picks…

Chocolate
Booja-Booja Truffle Selection No 2 – £ 12.99
This elegant selection of truffles is the most luxurious way to treat your vegan Valentine. The box contains three each of the Banoffee Toffee, Hazelnut Crunch, Almond Caramel and Rhubarb & Vanilla truffles meaning they have a delicious selection of award-winning chocolates…What’s not to love about that?

The Chocolatier Salted Caramel Chocolate Truffles & Salted Peanut Butter Truffles – £9.95
These truffles hide a delicious caramel or peanut butter centre, offering a delicious sweet treat for your loved one. They’re lower in calories compared to non-vegan truffles meaning they’re completely (ahem) guilt-free for you and the animals!

Cornwall’s Chocolate Cove Pepper, Sea Salt & Caramel Square – £3.50
This delicious square of goodness combines the perfect harmony of sweet and savoury for a really special Valentine’s treat. Pepper, sea salt and caramel come together in a delicate fusion of flavours to put a smile on your vegan Valentine’s face. Plus, 25p from the sale of each square goes directly to Viva!, so you can show your love to the animals and your date at the same time!

Adopt an Animal
Why not get your animal-loving beau a gift that keeps on giving this Valentine’s, by adopting one of our rescued animals? Our rescued animals have been saved from slaughter and suffering, and are now living their best lives in the Viva! Poland sanctuary. For £25, you will help the sanctuary care for the animal and receive your very own adoption pack. Choose to adopt Ofilia the Horse, Toto the Fox, Peppa the Pig or others!

Clothing and Accessories
Vegan is a State of Kind Jumper – £25.00
Wear your heart on your sleeve this Valentine’s by getting your loved one this beautiful unisex jumper. ‘Vegan is a State of Kind’ is our motto here at Viva! and perfectly represents why we’re vegan. Plus it’s ethically made with sustainable materials so you can avoid fast-fashion while supporting veganism as well.

Be Kind to All Kind T-Shirt – £16.99

Another favourite slogan at Viva!, this flattering t-shirt spreads the vegan love to everyone who sees it. We have a range of colours and animals available so you can show your Valentine how much you care by choosing their favourite.

Be Kind to All Kind Aluminium Bangle – £16.00
Love the slogan but want a different design? We also have hand-stamped ‘Be Kind to All Kind’ bangles so you can where your kindness every day. They come in three colours, silver, rose gold and gold and made out of high-quality metals.

Date Ideas
Finding the perfect vegan date idea can be tricky, but with many vegan Valentine’s Days under our belt at Viva!, we’ve compiled our ultimate list on how to make it a special day.

Meal in for two
There’s something so meaningful about having an evening in with a bottle of wine and home-cooked food. Why go out when you enjoy each other’s company so much? It’s the perfect time to show off your cooking skills and just relax with each other.

These Vegan Recipe Club ideas are the perfect way to bring romance into the kitchen.

Onion Tarte Tatin

This show-stopping centre-piece is perfect for impressing your date and showing off your cooking skills. It looks super fancy, but our easy to follow recipe makes it easy as pie! Caramelised balsamic onions, white wine, thyme and vegan cheese make for an amazing combination of flavours and shows how much effort you’ll go to for love!

Chocolate & Raspberry Torte
If anything is going to get you in the mood for Valentine’s it’s this yummy chocolate and raspberry torte. It’s utterly luxurious and its hidden raspberry centre is the perfect treat to sweeten things up. Perfect for making ahead of time, you can enjoy the evening with your date and then whip this out – rather than rushing around the kitchen all evening – to make it a night to remember.

Visit an Animal Sanctuary
If you’re looking for something a bit different to celebrate the day of love, why not find a local animal sanctuary that allows visitors? Spending time with rescued animals is bound to give you the butterfly feeling, and you’ll be supporting the organisation allowing them to continue doing their important work.

Vegan Cooking Class
Why not learn a new skill while spending time with your loved one by taking a vegan cooking class? It’s something different from the normal Valentine’s date, and you’ll learn new cooking techniques and dishes you’ll be able to recreate at home. Vegan restaurants and cooking schools often offer cooking classes, and you’re often able to bring your own alcohol to enjoy during the class.
