Happy Valentine's Day!

We might be in lockdown but with our help, you can still indulge in some romance this Valentine’s Day. We’ve got everything you need to have a loved up day in vegan style, whether you live together or not!

Dating has been flipped upside down this past year. Virtual first dates over Zoom have become the norm and new loves have rushed into living together so they don’t have to spend lockdown apart.

Whether you’ve been scrolling Tinder religiously this year, you’re in a committed relationship or just want to show yourself some self-love, here are our top vegan ideas for Valentine’s Day in lockdown.

Have an ‘Evening Out’ at Home

Just because restaurants and cocktail bars aren’t open doesn’t mean you can’t have a night to remember! Turning your home into a make-shift ‘cocktail bar’ and ‘restaurant’ is a special way to make the night different.

If you don’t live together, you can do this date idea over video call and have fun making the drinks and food at the same time.

Surprise your Valentine with some mood-lighting and music in a trendy ‘cocktail bar’ to begin the evening. Whip up some fresh Cranberry Mojitos or indulgent Vegan ‘Baileys’ Irish Cream Liqueur to impress your date before the main event.

When you’re ready for your romantic meal for two, light a candle and set the mood with these ambient restaurant sounds playing in the background. We promise you’ll feel like you’re in a cosy restaurant in no time!

For starters, we recommend the Avocado Wings with Ranch Dip from Vegan Recipe Club’s guest chef, Make No Bones. Then, the Thai Aubergine Curry which is an absolute favourite with Viva! staff and their partners. Finally, seal the deal with our delicious No-bake Light & Fluffy Vanilla Cheesecake.

Netflix and Chill

OK, we know this idea isn’t revolutionary but we’ve got some tricks up our sleeve to make it more special.

Woo your Valentine by planning a movie night at home. You could create ‘cinema tickets’ to our vegan documentary ‘HOGWOOD: a modern horror story’ and pretend you’re having a night out at the cinema. If you really want to make the night special you could order our ‘Vegan Surprise Treat Box’ for a selection of our favourite vegan sweets and chocolate.

This idea is perfect for couples who can’t be together because of the pandemic. You can video call and put each other on mute during the film. No annoying interruptions during the film and you can still see your date’s beautiful face while you’re watching!
