Four Animal Sanctuaries to Support During Coronavirus
The lockdown is a hard time for us all, but for the animal sanctuaries who care for rescued or abandoned animals, times are even tougher.
There are lots of animal sanctuaries providing amazing safe havens for animals who have been abused or rescued from cruel forms of exploitation. Without them, there would be nowhere for these poor animals to live, and would sadly have been put down or continued to be abused.
However, coronavirus means that many of these sanctuaries are not receiving enough money to properly care for their animals putting them in really tricky positions. While the world is on lockdown, sanctuaries are still working round the clock to make sure their animals are happy and well-cared for, but they can’t do it without our support.
If you want to make a positive difference for animals during this challenging time, donating to a sanctuary is a great way to make sure rescued animals can continue feeling loved and nurtured in their new homes.
Here are four of our favourite sanctuaries you can support…
Dean Farm Trust
Dean Farm Trust is an animal sanctuary located in South Wales. They have over 200 rescued animals living in 62 acres of pasture, woodland and paddocks including pigs, cows, chickens, turkeys, ponies and sheep. Mary, who runs the Trust along with a team of dedicated staff and volunteers work all year round to give these animals the love and care they need to live safely and happily. Keep up to date with happenings on the farm here.

Liberty Animal Sanctuary
Liberty Animal Sanctuary is constantly gracing our social media with heartwarming pictures and videos of the animals who live there. From Winston the Alpaca to Rosie the Pig, the animals who live at this sanctuary are always getting up to mischief and bringing joy on our Newsfeeds.

Coppershell Farm Sanctuary
Coppershell Farm Sanctuary is dedicated to providing permanent care and shelter for abandoned, neglected or abused animals. They want to help create a world that is kind to all and have started that by looking after animals who need it most. The 130 animals who live at the sanctuary all come from different backgrounds and have unique needs, but there is no better place for them than Coppershell Farm Sanctuary.

Beneath the Wood
Beneath the Wood are a small sanctuary with a big heart, based in Wales. They home dogs with behavioural issues, cats, sheep and helped rescue 73 pigs with Viva! last year. The sanctuary spends lots of time working with the animals they rescue to help them overcome any trauma they may have so they can live happy and fulfilling lives.
