Are you the next generation?s answer to Jamie Oliver?
A COMPETITION to find Britain?s budding chefs has been launched by veggie campaigning group, Viva!.
Schools are aiming to make young people better cooks and more aware of healthy eating than ever before. Viva! have decided to reward this hard work by offering prizes to the young people who can prove they?ve got what it takes.
The aim of the search is to get activists across the country competing to have their favourite veggie recipes published in a new cookery guide from Viva!, hitting the shelves later this year. Any veggies aged 18 years or younger are being invited to submit recipes (sweet and savoury) for the competition.
There will be two winners: one for the best savoury recipe and one for the best sweet recipe. The selected recipes (and the mastermind chefs behind them) will feature in the new Snappy Veggie Cooking. Each winner will also be awarded over ?100 worth of prizes. The best of the two winners will also receive a fantastic prize for their school including a Veggie Food Technology Gift Box (worth over ?100) and a ?50 cash prize from the competition?s sponsor, Redwoods Wholefood?s.
Ten runners up will also be selected to receive prize goodie bags worth over ?50.
To submit a recipe for the competition, please visit Viva!?s brand new youth website www.vivaactivists.org.uk or call Viva! on 0117 944 1000 and request a competition form.
The closing date for the competition is Monday, February 16, 2009.
